Tjenestealias

Tjenestealias er DNS C-records som gir brukere en mer permanent og mnemonisk måte å referere til bestemte tjenester på PVV.

Siden tjenester flyttes mellom maskiner nå og da anbefales det å bruke tjenestealias i stedet for maskinnavn. Her er noen av de vanligste:

  • login, fwlogin
  • samba, sambapvv
  • mail, mailhost, imap, pop, smtp
  • mysql, postgres
  • wiki, www
  • git, dev
  • salt, kdc, kerberos

Serverbokser

Dette er maskiner som kjører brukerrettede tjenester og/eller fungerer bra som arbeidshester.

Unngå å kjøre alt mulig rart på microbel. Unntaket er ting som skaper massiv diskaktivitet.
